Don’t you wish you were here? 🙂 Read a bit about this amazing Mexican state of Chiapas…
Chiapas is the southernmost state of Mexico, bordered on the east by Guatemala and on the south by the Pacific Ocean. The natural beauty of this region, mostly wild and rugged, has no parallel in Mexico – high mountains with deep canyons and gorges, deep green forested valleys, awesome waterfalls and a colossal wealth of flora, fauna and wildlife.
Lakes and rivers abound in Chiapas which boasts of a tropical climate. The rains that help to keep these lands fertile also create a series of spectacular waterfalls, many of which are easily accessible thanks to local co-operative groups which have created roads and trails leading into the jungles where some of these natural wonders are hidden. Around the many parallel sierras or mountain ranges running along the centre of Chiapas, the climate can be quite temperate and foggy, resulting in the development of cloud forests.
