Here’s the sixth and the final part…
23.06.2013
It was the last day of my two-week holiday and I had a bagload of impressions and lasting memories…
As usual, I had received generous discounts on room tariff at all the hotels where I had stayed at except for Hotel Dalhousie Heights. I later discovered that the hotel had charged me more than the high season tariff taking advantage of the shortage of hotel rooms in that region.
I hadn’t liked the food at Dalhousie and had desperately longed for a McDonald’s combo meal.
My favourite place was of course Mcleodganj! I hoped to visit Bhagsu some time again.
I was so glad that my trip wasn’t affected by the rains which were creating havoc in the nearby state of Uttarakhand. The weather had been cold at times in Dalhousie but in Mcleodganj, it was perfect. At both places it had rained heavily before my arrival but not during my stay.
My return flight to Mumbai was to depart at 3:55pm. By the time I reached the airport it was 2pm and I suddenly felt hungry. I headed straight for the KFC outlet. That’s when I remembered my mom’s words. “Don’t eat non-veg today,” she had said, when she had called me in the morning. It was a Hindu feast day. I have hardly ever eaten a vegetarian meal at KFC and wasn’t keen on trying it. Neither did I feel like trying out north or south Indian food at other outlets. In the end, I took the veg combo meal at KFC!
The Indigo flight arrived in Mumbai ten minutes earlier than the scheduled arrival time.
With this, my two-week Travel Diary comes to an end. It was fun sharing it with you all and I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
See you soon…till then take care 😀
